Responsible Surfing has very useful and easy to use monitoring and recording tools especially made for schools. You can monitor keywords, keystrokes, websites visit, programs, online games, e-mails and take screenshots of the screen. It also records all keystrokes and keeps them in a database for you to look at any time you want.
It can be important to monitor specific keywords like street addresses, phone numbers, words related to bullying, sexual related content etc. The administrator can receive an instant report or look closely at screenshots of chat or emails where these words were used. It is a very effective tool to prevent predators from reaching your students and students using the school computers for bullying other students.
You can have a complete list of all websites a user visits. This tool enables you to check the content in Responsible Surfing browser. If you feel the content is not appropriate you can add it to your block list with just one click. It also records all attempts to visits blocked sites, which gives you a good overview of what kind of websites each user is trying to access.
For each program, you can capture the name of the person using the program, when the program was opened, and for how long the program was open. More importantly, you'll see how long the program was ACTIVELY used. You will know if a user simply opens a program and leaves it on-screen (an indication someone might be trying to deceive you into thinking they were doing school work assignment in Word or Excel while they were really surfing the web or playing games).
You can configure Responsible Surfing to log screen shots at your chosen frequency and resolution. It could be based on specific time intervals, when specific keywords are typed, or when a specific website is visited. This enables you too see exactly what has been done on the computer and also gives you a tool to fight predators, online bullies and harassments on the internet.
Keep a log of every keystroke typed by users on your computer. This includes information entered in web forms, e-mails, applications, and chats. Secure information, such as what is entered in password fields is also recorded (the actual keystrokes, not the asterisks).
Keep a log of what information users copy and paste.
Keep a log of keystrokes that do not appear on the screen such as: SHIFT, TAB, FUNCTION KEYS, ALT, CONTROL, etc)
