I am very interested in learning how to use and using the internet. I fully understand that there are some things that are important for me to agree to and know of. In addition there are some rules that I agree to follow completely. I hereby agree to follow the following rules about my internet use.

1.      I will always inform a parent or grown up if there is something I do not understand, am afraid of, belive may be dangerous, feel bad about or involves something I do not want to participate in online.

2.      I understand that some people may pretend to be someone they are not online and there are grown ups who pretend to be children.

3.      I will never reveal my name, adress or phone number online. I will also not reveal where or when I go to school, sports or other activities. I will also not give any similar information about my parents, siblings or friends. If I feel it may be alright to pass such information along I will consult a grown up.

4.      I will never give out my chat handle/nickname or add anyone to my chat program without my parents permission.

5.      I will always inform a parent or guardian of those I meet online and ask them before I answer someone I have not talked to before.

6.      I will always look after my passwords and not reveal any information about them.

7.      I will not fill out any forms online, participate in competitions, or sign my name online without first consulting an adult. I will further read all directions on sites that request such information to ensure that the information will be safe.

8.      I will avoid arguing online and if someone picks a fight with me I will show an adult either on screen or a printout.

9.      I will not say mean things nor tease anyone online.

10.    I will never agree to meet friends I only know online outside of the computer and if at any time this becomes necessary I will not do so unless accompanied by an adult.

11.    I will not call any online friend whom I only know online nor accept that such friends call me.

12.    I will never respond to anything online that is rude, seems dangerous or weird in some way and if I receive messages like that I will inform an adult immediatelym, save the message(s), print or write down the senders handle/nickname.

13.    If I witness someone doing something which they shouldn be doing online I will inform an adult.

14.    I will avoid keeping secrets and will inform a parent or guardian of everything I do online.

15.    I will avoid websites that require payment unless I have explicit permission from a parent or guardian.

16.    I will never send a picture of myself, friends or relatives unless I have permission from a parent or guardian.

17.    I will not buy anything online nor reveal a credit card number without permission and in the presence of an adult.

18.    I know my parents want to help me and support online and I will accept to abide by the things they ask of me.

19.    I will attempt to teach my parents when they do not understand programs or sites that I am using.

20.    I understand that there are viruses online and I will be careful to virusscan any and all materials I download from the net.

21.    Furthermore I will ask a parent/guardian for permission before I download material to the computer.

22.    My parents agree to not overreact to my actions and therefore I agree to reveal everything that happens online. They also understand that the actions of others online are not my fault.
